Applications are open for the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) Internship 2026. Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) is looking for an intern to support German global health policy – focus on Global Health Hub Germany.
The project “Support in German Global Health Policy” has been commissioned by the Federal Ministry of Health (BMG). The aim of the project is to advance the topic of global health at national and international level and to support the BMG in making a visible contribution to international processes. This includes supporting and promoting cross-sectoral and cross-stakeholder exchange and cooperation at international and national level.
The GIZ team supports BMG in implementing the German Government’s Global Health Strategy (BuReg), in positioning the issue of global health in national and international bodies and processes, and in shaping dialogue with non-state actors.
Duties
As part of your internship, you will have the following tasks, among others:
- Support of the GIZ team in the implementation of the project activities with a focus on GHHG activities
- Support in the planning, preparation and implementation of the GHHG Annual Conference in July 2026
- Content management of the digital platform for hub members (collaboration space) including planning and implementation of participation opportunities, such as surveys
- Writing articles for the website and newsletters
- Support in the preparation, planning and implementation of a series of events on global health for political decision-makers and other events in the political sphere
- Support in the preparation, implementation and documentation of various internal and external events (including meetings of the GHHG Steering Committee, webinars)
- Support in supporting members, hub communities and their community products (such as policy papers) and building partnerships
- Maintaining the hub’s info inbox and responding to member inquiries
Benefits
- The monthly intern salary is €2,349 (gross).
Eligibility
- Applicants should have university studies in the field of health, social sciences, political sciences or economics – preferably with a focus on public/international/global health or international relations
- Previous experience in the field of development cooperation, cooperation with ministries is an advantage
- Experience in the field of communication/public relations and event management
- Knowledge of network or multi-stakeholder organizations is an advantage
- Strategic, analytical and interdisciplinary thinking
- Organizational skills and initiative
- Very good oral and written expression skills in scientific and generally understandable language
- Very good knowledge of German and English
