Wageningen University & Research (WUR) offers several prestigious Master’s scholarship programmes aimed at attracting outstanding international students to its globally renowned academic environment.
These scholarships are available only to prospective MSc students and are valid for programmes starting in September 2026. Students who are already enrolled at Wageningen University are not eligible.
The main Wageningen University scholarship programmes include the Excellence Programme, the Africa Scholarship Programme (ASP), and the Anne van den Ban Fund (ABF). Selection for these scholarships is by invitation only, based on academic excellence and eligibility criteria.
General Scholarship Conditions

Excellence Programme

- Candidates who have received unconditional admission
Scholarship Coverage
- Full tuition fee waiver for the entire programme duration (24 months)
Eligibility Requirements
- Citizenship from a non-EEA country (including Switzerland)
- A complete MSc application submitted before the deadline
- Unconditional admission to a Wageningen MSc programme
- High academic performance, with a minimum GPA of 80% or equivalent
- A First Class Honours Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Only candidates invited by email on 1 April 2026 will remain under consideration. Some invited students will be selected by lot and either awarded the scholarship or placed on a waiting list.
Africa Scholarship Programme (ASP)
The Africa Scholarship Programme (ASP) supports capacity building in Africa by enabling highly talented African students to pursue a Master’s degree at Wageningen University.
Who Can Apply
- Citizens of African countries
- Applicants starting an MSc programme in September 2026
- Students with exceptional academic records
Scholarship Coverage
- Full tuition fee coverage for 24 months
- Living allowance for the full duration of study
- Round-trip travel between home country and the Netherlands
- Visa costs and health insurance expenses
Eligibility Requirements
- African citizenship
- Complete MSc application submitted before the deadline
- Unconditional admission to a Wageningen MSc programme
- First Class Honours Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum GPA of 80% or higher
- Preference given to candidates without a previous Master’s degree
Only applicants who meet all criteria may be invited to participate in the ASP selection process.

Candidates who do not receive an email on 1 April 2026 are no longer under consideration for ASP.
Anne van den Ban Fund (ABF)
The Anne van den Ban Fund (ABF) provides financial support to selected international MSc students at Wageningen University. The fund is aimed at students who demonstrate academic excellence and strong motivation.
