Applications are open for the O’Shaughnessy Fellowships & Grants Program 2026. The O’Shaughnessy Fellowships & Grants program unites the world’s most bold and undiscovered researchers, builders, and creatives from all over the world to discover, build, and spread path-breaking ideas.
Awardees are creating synthetic cells, saving dying languages, building homes for homeless children, researching biological machinery to stop aging, making sci-fi films, designing novel roses that don’t exist in nature, launching the New Yorker for the Spanish speaking world, building anti-recording devices, creating global #1 viral songs, building mechanical hands for amputees, storing data in plants and much much more.
Benefits
- Inspired by Francis Bacon’s The New Atlantis, OSV is looking to support the modern day Merchants of Light with Fellowships of $100,000 and Grants of $10,000.
Eligibility
- Open to individuals of the highest caliber whose work positively impacts the world, from scientific breakthroughs and technological innovations to enduring artistic and cultural contributions.
- Individuals over the age of 18 can apply.
- If you’re working on something that can improve the world, they want to hear from you.
Application
- Stage 1 (January 1 – April 30, 2026): After you submit the application form, they will review on a rolling basis—so the earlier you apply, the sooner you hear back. Most applicants get an update within 30 days.
- Stage 2 (February 1 – May 30, 2026): Shortlisted applicants hop on a call with the team. This is your chance to think out loud, share your vision, show them how you solve problems and ask any questions you have.
- Stage 3 (Through May 30, 2026): Meet more of the OSV team and extended network. Each conversation brings you closer to a decision. Final selections announced by June 1, 2026.
